Mauritius Tourist Board (MTPA) with the support of Air Mauritius, has recently invited an important Italian Press trip to discover new places in Mauritius. The group of Italian journalists, accompanied by Sarah Cusma of MTPA Italy, consisted of Florinda Cordella, the magazine ‘Gentlemen’, Sauro Tiziano Legramandi of ‘TGCOM.it’, Federico Chiara of ‘Vogue Italia’, Roberto Caramelli ’La Repubblica’ and Clelia Torelli of the magazine ‘Cosmopolitan’. The journalists spent two days at Shanti Maurice, discovering Grandma’s Kitchen, Nira Spa, and other South Mauritian experiences. “The purpose of this press trip”, said Sara Cusma, “is to allow some influential journalists from Italy, to enjoy the hospitality of Mauritius, the diversity of the touristic sites, and discover new hotels and products. Culture and history had an important place during the trip, especially during the time spent at Shanti Maurice, escorted by the General Manager, Paul van Frank.”

Celebrity plant a tree

The Plant a Tree programme at Shanti Maurice aims to maintain the natural beauty of our lush environment by inviting visiting celebrities to plant a tree as an ecological investment. We are delighted to announce that the acclaimed British actress and Oscar nominee, Thandie Newton, has already contributed to this initiative following in the footsteps of none other than Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, the ex Deputy President of South Africa, who initiated this worthwhile cause, as well as Kim Sjogren, one of Denmark’s most celebrated Violinists and most recently, Nick Knowles, the celebrated BBC presenter.
